Private Visa Information – Azerbaijan

Private Visa to Azerbaijan is issued if you are travelling to Azerbaijan on a personal Invitation from an Azerbaijani Citizen as a host. Private Visas are also issued to foreigners if they are a spouse, relative, or a child of an Azerbaijani national with a permanent residency in the United States. Single/double entry visas are typically valid for 90 days from the date of issue. Duration of stay for single visas- maximum of 30 days. Duration of stay for double entry visas are decided by the Consulate based on the Letter of Invitation that supports the application form. Please note that if the visitor is staying in the country for more than 30 days, he/she must register with local authorities.A double entry visa will allow the traveler to enter Azerbaijan twice during this trip; the traveler may enter Azerbaijan, depart from Azerbaijan to another country, and re-enter Azerbaijan within the dates specified on the visa.

Processing time for a Private Visa to Azerbaijan is approximately 10 business days(2 Weeks). Rush processing is not available.

Important: All foreigners visiting the Republic of Azerbaijan for more than three days, need to be registered at the State Migration Service of the Republic of Azerbaijan within three days upon arrival to Azerbaijan.

The Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan regarding “On registration to the place of residence and sojourn” is now in effect.

In accordance with these amendments foreigners and stateless persons, intending to stay in the Republic of Azerbaijan for more than three days, need to be registered at the State Migration Service of the Republic of Azerbaijan (www.migration.gov.az) within three days upon arrival to Azerbaijan.

Upon arrival to hotels, sanatoria, boarding houses, camping sits, Private centers, hospitals, other public places, apartments, as well as other residential premises, owner or administration (host party) of such residential premises must send corresponding application and a copy of the passport of relevant foreigner and stateless person to the State Migration Service of the Republic of Azerbaijan within 3 days.

The application form and a copy of the passport of the foreigners and stateless persons can be submitted by host party to the State Migration Service of the Republic of Azerbaijan:

1) inperson;
2)  by mail (through post offices);
3)  by e-mail (qeydiyyat@migration.gov.az)

After submitting of the application form and copy of passport State Migration Service of the Republic of Azerbaijan registers foreign citizens and stateless persons in accordance with their place of sojourn and provides notice of registration to the host party in one day.

When a foreign citizen or stateless person is expected to leave his/her place of sojourn, the host party shall notify the State Migration Service in order to annul the registration of the foreign citizen or stateless person. If a foreign citizen or stateless person changes his/her place of sojourn, they must re-register at their new place of sojour
